Slow growing, 20 yrs to trunk. Cream flower clusters summer, orange berries ripen over 3 yrs. Prefer/grow faster in sheltered moist deeply worked shady conditions among other plants when young, but will tolerate full sun, frost tender if young can be terminal, once older often recover with new fronds gradually improving the appearance again.
